Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the technical operations of our laboratory section. The successful candidate will ensure that all procedures are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures, and will assist and support the Lab Director/Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of quality, efficiency, and safety in the laboratory section, ensuring compliance with CAP standards.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding deficiencies in the section, progress of test development, and team member actions under consideration.
  • Demonstrate initiative in tracking and resolving problems, and continually check the accuracy of test methods and instruments in the section.
  • Review laboratory reports, including reference laboratory reports, for extraordinary results and clerical errors.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in the section and participate in cost analysis of existing and prospective tests.
  • Complete orientation and training within the section, and assign schedules and work for section members as needed.
  • Delegate authority and responsibility as appropriate, and ensure that work assigned to section members is completed and reported in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Certification in MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), HTL(ASCP), CT(ASCP), or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in a specific laboratory section.
Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, and will be exposed to biohazardous materials, chemicals, fire, and mechanical hazards. The position requires standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending, and lifting light to moderately heavy loads.
