Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Specialist to join our team in the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and enforcing safety and environmental regulations, including plant, corporate, local, state, and federal requirements.

You will establish safety and environmental standards based on risk and hazard analysis to meet regulatory requirements and HSE management systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001). Additionally, you will review HSE incidents for root cause and establish corrective and preventative actions.

This role requires strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills to interact with various plant staff functions, coordinate plant safety teams, and provide technical assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop HSE-related policies and procedures for the plant and drive implementation
  • Conduct hazard assessments of equipment and jobs to ensure compliance with applicable requirements
  • Assist or lead change management tasks and conduct machine release inspections
  • Conduct formal reviews of new equipment, equipment modifications, or process changes
  • Develop HSE-related communication, including training, safety alerts, and production review meetings
  • Interact with state and federal agencies and consultants to ensure compliance with EPA and NC DEQ requirements
  • Assist or lead environmental compliance and reporting needs for the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Toxic Release Inventory Program, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, etc.
  • Improve and develop cost savings projects in waste management system design
  • Assist or lead safety and environmental audits of key program areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Bosch norms
  • Coordinate safety and environmental related communication, including training, alerts, and production review meetings
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, Occupational Safety, Environmental, or a related field, as well as 1+ years of experience in health, safety, or environmental roles in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

You should also have strong MS Office skills, including Excel and Word, and a valid driver's license.

A preferred qualification is knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 annually, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
