Employment Specialist

Catholic Charities of Tennessee seeks a skilled Employment Specialist to provide employment services to refugees, asylees, and other foreign-born individuals. The successful candidate will conduct assessments, assist with job applications, and provide job coaching to ensure successful job placement.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments of experience, skills, and barriers to employment with clients.
- Assist clients with preliminary employment services, including opening a bank account, applying for a state ID, and completing job applications.
- Remove barriers to employment, such as transportation and childcare issues.
- Provide job coaching and follow-up services to ensure job placement success.
- Build and maintain relationships with employment partners, including employers and organizations providing skill-building opportunities.
- High school diploma or GED with 2 or more years of related experience, or an associate degree in social work.
- Experience working with refugees or across cultures preferred.
- Proficiency in one or more refugee languages, with a preference for Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Dari, Arabic, Burmese, Somali, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, or Kurdish.
