About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Construction Technician to join our team at Charter Communications. As an Underground Construction Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our fiber optic network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair underground cables and equipment
  • Work in a team environment to complete construction projects
  • Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including street cutters, drills, trenchers, and excavators
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of experience in OSP underground construction/maintenance
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of outside plant construction standards
  • Skills in attention to detail, teamwork, initiative, communication, adaptability, and consistency
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to dig in all types of soil and lift occasionally heavy materials
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Class A CDL (commercial driver's license)
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification
