We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Construction Technician to join our team at Charter Communications. As an Underground Construction Technician, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of our fiber optic network.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair underground cables and equipment
- Work in a team environment to complete construction projects
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment, including street cutters, drills, trenchers, and excavators
- Ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals
- 2-4 years of experience in OSP underground construction/maintenance
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of outside plant construction standards
- Skills in attention to detail, teamwork, initiative, communication, adaptability, and consistency
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to dig in all types of soil and lift occasionally heavy materials
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Class A CDL (commercial driver's license)
- OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification
