Surgical Technologist Operating Room Specialist

UPMC Hamot's Operating Room is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our 17-suite operating room, which offers a wide range of specialties, including robotics, kidney transplants, trauma, and more.
We provide high-quality care for both elective and urgent patients, from infants to geriatrics. You will have the opportunity to work with world-class surgeons and anesthesiologists from across the country.
Responsibilities:- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures by setting up instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and solutions.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponge, and suture to surgeons and surgical assistants.
- Prepare and care for specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
- Assist in the preparation, application, and removal of dressings.
- Help transfer patients to the recovery room and clean and restock the operating room.
- Completion of a formal surgical technician program offered by a community or junior college, vocational school, university, hospital, or the military.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting, Act 33, Act 34, and Act 73 FBI Clearance.
