Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for the procurement of IT hardware, maintenance, and support, as well as data, goods, and services company-wide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Negotiation: Develop and negotiate favorable prices on higher complexity procurements, including terms, schedules, and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures under supervisor guidance.
  • Purchase Order Administration: Administer purchase orders, maintain files, and close out procurement-related activities and supplier customer management.
  • Supplier Management: Create solicitations, support proposals, conduct price and cost analysis, negotiate price/cost and price/cost-related terms, and other subcontract provisions. Procure higher complexity and risk, involving complex supplier negotiations.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Confer with suppliers and analyze their operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
  • Proposal Review: Review proposals and select or recommend suppliers based on gathered information.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.
  • Independent Procurement: Complete larger procurements independently.
  • Peer Review and Mentoring: Support peer reviews and mentoring of other IT Hardware Buyers.
Requirements
  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree coupled with 4-8 years of business experience; OR a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma coupled with 8+ years of business experience.
  • Experience: Prior experience buying tangible goods is required.
  • Skills: Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong Customer Service mentality. Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CostPoint experience preferred. Terms and Conditions negotiation experience preferred.
