Job Title: Wound Nurse RN/LPN

Job Summary:

The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing, and supervising the day-to-day wound care program of the facility in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and practices. This includes conducting thorough assessments of wounds, developing individualized wound care plans, and applying and managing advanced wound care treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct wound assessments, including identifying wound type, stage, and signs of infection
  • Develop and implement individualized wound care plans based on best practices and patient needs
  • Apply and manage advanced wound care treatments, including dressings, debridement, and skin grafts
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of wound care interventions and adjust treatment plans as necessary
  • Educate patients and families on wound care techniques, infection prevention, and treatment plans
  • Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Document wound assessments, treatments, and patient progress in electronic health records accurately and timely

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in practicing state
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must pass a criminal background check
  • Current CPR certification
  • Long-term care experience preferred
  • 2 years RN experience with a focus on wound care preferred
