Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and interventions tailored to the diverse needs of patients and their families.
- Gather, analyze, and utilize information from patient requisitions, medical records, and referring physicians to correlate with obtained images.
- Employ advanced sonographic techniques to accurately identify and differentiate anatomical structures and pathologies.
- Utilize independent judgment to generate diagnostic images of human anatomy using state-of-the-art ultrasound systems for our referring providers and interpreting physicians.
- Demonstrate courtesy and professionalism towards patients, family members, visitors, and colleagues, adhering to our 'World Class Practices' Service Standards.
This role will primarily support the Santa Monica and Westwood regions, focusing on patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Participation in on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules is expected, along with the flexibility to work rotating shifts as required.
Position Requirements:
- For Staff Ultrasound Technologist: A minimum of one to two years of experience in a hospital or acute care setting is required. Active RDMS certification in one specialty (e.g., Abdomen or OB-GYN) is mandatory. Graduation from a CAAHAP accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred.
- For Senior Ultrasound Technologist: At least four years of experience in a hospital or acute care environment is necessary. Active RDMS certification in three specialties (Abdomen, OB-GYN, and RVT) is required. Proficiency in Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Pediatric, and Vascular Sonography, as well as interventional procedures, is essential. Graduation from a CAAHAP accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred.
General Qualifications:
- BLS/CPR certification is required.
- AAS or higher in Medical Sonography is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, and staff in a professional manner.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Capacity for independent decision-making and prioritizing tasks while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Basic typing skills for data entry into RIS and HIS information systems.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and the ability to differentiate between various procedures and diagnoses within the assigned departments.
