Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Senior and Disability Services Specialist. This role will involve investigating allegations of abuse and neglect, providing intervention and reporting services, and working with vulnerable populations to ensure their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate allegations of abuse and neglect, and provide intervention and reporting services as required under state and federal mandate.
  • Provide comprehensive assessment and crisis intervention services for protective service/abuse situations, including arranging for medical care, alternative living arrangements, and other needed services.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, gather information, and document evidence in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to reduce risk to clients, and work with community agencies and resources to provide services and support.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, law enforcement, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human, social, behavioral, or criminal sciences, or a satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of the elderly and people with disabilities, and familiarity with the problems and issues confronting vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to work effectively with a culturally diverse population.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, organize and structure work, and handle multiple projects and a high volume of work.
Working Environment

This role involves frequent travel to make home or facility visits, and potential exposure to diseases, unsanitary conditions, and traffic hazards. The work environment may also involve exposure to bodily waste, illegal drug use, communicable diseases, and the presence of weapons and/or vicious animals.
