Metering Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to metering technicians, ensuring compliance with company operating and safety procedures. \t
  • Maintain safe working conditions and identify and correct or report on unsafe conditions in work areas. \t
  • Prepare estimates, PARs, and technical engineering requests for metering installations and upgrades. \t
  • Plan, schedule, and implement daily metering activities, setting priorities based on customer needs. \t
  • Provide on-the-job training for employees in safety and job development. \t
  • Communicate timely and relevant information to management, direct reports, and others as situations necessitate. \t
  • Review metering data reports, identify problem areas, and suggest or develop problem solutions for identified metering issues. \t
  • Interface with employees in other departments, customers, other utilities, government agency representatives, and the public. \t
  • Assure proper maintenance is completed on all assigned customer services, non-customer piping systems, and equipment located on department trucks for P6 service work. \t
  • Demonstrate leadership with department employees of various knowledge levels. \t
  • Maintain a cost-effective inventory control for the department. \t
  • Provide logs, write procedures, write reports, and update procedures and reports as needed and forward all requests to management for review. \t
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of employee timesheets. \t
  • Ensure housekeeping duties are assigned. \t
  • Perform any related duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • \t
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field preferred. \t
  • 5+ years of experience in the field working with I&C and/or metering systems. \t
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred. \t
  • Maximo or CMMS system experience preferred. \t
  • Must submit to a company-provided pre-employment physical and drug screening. \t
  • Must qualify to wear a respirator. \t
  • Exposed to temperature extremes, high noise level areas, high pressure steam lines, rotating equipment, and dusty/dirty environments. \t
  • Required to wear PPE such as a hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection. \t
