Job Summary:

As a skilled Cytotechnologist, you will perform microscopic examinations of ThinPrep specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic, and review relevant patient clinical data applicable to the specimen. You will evaluate diagnostic possibilities and render cytopathologic diagnoses, conferring with pathologists and/or manager on difficult cases. Your responsibilities will also include submitting cases demonstrating abnormalities and all non-gynecologic cases to pathologist for final diagnosis, documenting diagnostic evaluation of each case read, and revising case charges as necessary. Additionally, you will review and electronically sign every final report prior to distribution, utilizing computer as pertinent to the cytopathology laboratory adeptly. You will effectively utilize quality control procedures as defined by hospital policy and collaborate with pathologists, physicians, and other hospital staff in providing effective health care for the patient.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required; masters preferred. Completion of a formal education program in Cytotechnology necessary. ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist required. Must be skilled in the use of various lab equipment. Manual dexterity required in processing specimens, handling equipment, etc. Proficiency in the English language required.
