Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our Corporate Counseling & Transactions Unit (CC&T) as a Counsel for Technology Transactions. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on a variety of technology matters, including transactions for technology services, vendor contracts, and data security.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in transactional law, with a focus on technology and data. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating technology agreements, counseling business areas on allocating business and legal risks associated with vendor relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to our Enterprise Technology Department and other business areas.

Responsibilities
  • Advise on legal issues related to transactions for technology services, including vendor contracts and data security
  • Draft and negotiate technology agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, and outsourcing agreements
  • Counsel business areas on allocating business and legal risks associated with vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Technology Department and other business areas to develop and implement technology strategies
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in technology law
Requirements
  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state and a member in good standing of the bar
  • Must be able to obtain a limited license in IL if not already appropriately licensed in IL
  • 3-6 years of transactional experience, preferably with experience or acumen in the technology area
  • Commitment to providing quality legal advice, learning agility, and a history of enthusiastic participation in a team environment
