Emergency Response Coordinator

Umatilla County is seeking a skilled Emergency Response Coordinator to join their team.
The estimated salary for this role is $4,534-$5,787 per month, plus excellent benefits.
About the JobThis position involves answering 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency telephone lines, providing callers with necessary assistance, and making response decisions regarding fire, police, and EMS.
You will also be responsible for receiving and transmitting information to mobile units on a two-way radio, adhering to FCC provisions.
Requirements- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Employee must be able to distinguish between the full range of colors in the color spectrum to work with CAD systems.
- Must successfully complete and maintain certification for Basic Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatch within 18 months of hire.
- Must attain and maintain LEDS certifications.
- Must be able to understand, speak, and write English clearly and fluently.
- Must possess knowledge to operate miscellaneous office equipment, including personal computers, telephones, computerized radio equipment, and fax machines.
- Must be highly organized and self-motivated.
- Must have the ability to work without supervision.
- Must be able to make correct response decisions under low, medium, and high stress conditions where life and property are concerned.
- Must be able to gain verbal control of an out-of-control person under low, medium, and high stress conditions where life and property are concerned.
- Must be a multi-task oriented individual.
- Knowledge to operate and communicate on law enforcement radios.
- Must have knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.
- Ability to work with ethnic minority groups and communities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the general public.
- Requires devising work methods and solutions for each problem.
- Work is subject to continuous pressures calling for inventiveness.
- Communication Training Officers (CTOs): Provides training to new dispatchers as outlined in the Training Manual, Department policy, and SOPs.
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, drug screens, physical exams, and psychological evaluations.
