Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Crescent City Recruitment Group. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for effectively planning and executing capital projects to continuously improve process capability, production quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee engineering reviews, project management, cost control, and sustainability planning for assigned strategic and capital projects.
  • Manage complex engineering projects related to new production, capital investments, and cost savings opportunities.
  • Participate in long-term strategic planning for new production capability and capacity as well as annual capital budget planning process.
  • Responsible for economic analysis and justification of capital requests from production, marketing/sales, and technical departments.
  • Track capital expenses for various engineering projects, including assisting with budgeting, managing project costs, completing purchase orders, and tracking final costs.
  • Oversee external vendors/contractors to ensure safety standards are met or exceeded throughout project lifecycle.
  • Manage post-project performance analysis on all capital projects with a budget of $100,000 or more.
  • Assist with overall plant operations and maintenance by optimizing process conditions, resolving process problems and quality deficiencies, and reducing capacity restrictions.
  • Promote teamwork across the facility while interacting with employees to support the company's quality, safety, and PIE program.
  • Stay abreast of new technological development associated with plastic film equipment and processes, including extrusion, web handling, printing, and other converting technologies.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a technical field, with a background in project engineering or project management.
  • Proficiency with various software applications, including PLC and programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or VB, as well as familiarity with Windows/DOS.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience performing cash flow analysis using Microsoft Office.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control engineering, or similar discipline or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional Certification.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Certifications.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional.
  • Plastic extrusion or blown film manufacturing experience.
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
