We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Standardized Patient to join our team at the University of Miami. As a Standardized Patient, you will recreate the history, physical findings, and emotional responses of actual patients in simulated clinical encounters. Your role will also involve evaluating and teaching communication techniques to healthcare professionals, helping them elicit information necessary for diagnosis and treatment while establishing rapport with patients.
Key Responsibilities- Simulate all aspects of scenarios, including history of current problem, affect/behavior, and physical findings, in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
- Complete checklists accurately and completely.
- Provide both verbal and written constructive feedback to medical students and colleagues.
- Work in a professional manner when interacting with learners, faculty, supervisors, and peers.
- Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators and incorporate it into case simulation.
- Promote positive communication about the Miller School of Medicine and its programs within the healthcare and local communities.
- Participate in presentations to various community, political, and medical audiences.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- No experience required.
- General knowledge of office procedures and operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
