Position Summary
The Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering professional nursing care to residents of all ages in a long-term care setting, under the guidance of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role requires a solid understanding of nursing principles applicable to the clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate competency in nursing practices, utilizing age-specific standards to address the physical and psychosocial needs of residents as outlined in their care plans. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and administering medications or treatments as prescribed.
- Providing technical support to healthcare professionals.
- Documenting resident interactions and care outcomes accurately.
- Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary care teams.
- Communicating clearly while maintaining confidentiality.
- Counseling residents and families on treatment and prevention strategies.
Qualifications
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited practical nursing program and hold a current, unencumbered LPN license. Additional qualifications may include:
- Completion of a pre-licensure nursing program with supervised clinical experience.
- IV therapy/management skills as required by state regulations.
- Ongoing education and competency training in nursing practices.
