We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Equipment Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the company's fleet of heavy-duty diesel equipment to ensure safe and compliant operations.

Estimated Salary:

The estimated salary for this position is up to $29.36 per hour, plus shift differential for overnight hours. Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading food distributor in the industry. As a Heavy-Duty Diesel Equipment Technician, you will diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, refrigeration units, convertor dollies, and maintenance vehicles under minimal supervision.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Completes overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmission
  • Performs preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment
  • Inspects brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition
  • Ensures equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed as 'roadworthy'
  • Completes thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
  • 5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions
