Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Controls Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in HVAC controls design and submittal reviews, analyze utility and energy data for conservation measures, and review EMS data to identify maintenance needs.

The successful candidate will perform site visits, implement cost-effective solutions, troubleshoot HVAC issues, and respond to warranty calls. With a minimum of three years of professional experience in building controls and an understanding of computer networking principles, the candidate must hold a degree in engineering or a related technical field.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with HVAC Controls Design and Submittal reviews
  • Assist in reviewing utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro-commissioning
  • Assist in reviewing EMS and energy data and alarms to identify no-cost/low-cost energy conservation measures
  • Assist in the review of EMS energy data and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures
  • Perform site visits to investigate as-built conditions on identified projects
  • Implement low-cost to no-cost solutions or alternatives to projects/repairs of EMS systems at existing school sites
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical electrical and controls problems
  • Respond to basic warranty calls
  • Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment
  • Assist in managing In-House Commissioning Projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience in building controls or a related field
  • Understanding of computer networking principles including configuration maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to wire, start up, and troubleshoot basic HVAC maintenance issues
  • Fundamental understanding of HVAC operations within a facility
