Job Title: Director of Tutoring and College Advising

Overview:

The New York Foundling is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our Tutoring and College Advising program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing student outreach, enrollment, academic, and data management, ensuring program effectiveness by providing leadership, coaching, and streamlining workflows.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance educational services for students in foster care, focusing on retention, academic, and career success.
  2. Supervise and develop staff through training and professional development opportunities to ensure staff growth, collaboration, and continued success in program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  3. Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including workshops and internal/external events to foster positive relationships and effective communication.
  4. Coordinate student enrollment and access to key program services to ensure a smooth onboarding process and opportunities to improve academic outcomes.
  5. Develop and maintain clear, effective, and compliant policies and procedures for program operations.
  6. Compile reports and documentation to maintain accurate, comprehensive, and accessible records for program activities, staff productivity, and student/client progress.
  7. Act as an ambassador for the program by developing key stakeholder relationships, attending events/conferences, and developing marketing and advertisement materials to ensure the program broadens its reach to eligible students and identifies additional funding opportunities.
  8. Manage budgetary responsibilities, including monitoring program spending, providing real-time budget reports, and updates for stakeholders, and participating in funding applications and dispersal timelines.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution. A minimum of 4 years of experience working with foster care youth or in a related field is required, with experience working within the foster care system in New York State preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in relevant software programs and strong analytical skills to interpret program data, identify trends, and measure program effectiveness are also essential.

Salary Range: $76,500 to $80,300/year
