Job Summary

Draper is seeking a Senior Mechanical Packaging Design Engineer to join our team of multidisciplinary engineers and scientists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for electronics packaging in high-reliability and extended mission life systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical design and development associated with the physical arrangement of electronic circuits, including assembly design, analysis, build, test, and documentation support.
  • Develop solutions for executing the design, tolerance analysis, evaluation, or failure analysis of assigned projects using mechanical design principles.
  • Develop die and module level packaging solutions, including proposing solutions for placement and control of critical components requiring precise alignment to be maintained through shock, vibration, and thermal disturbances.
  • Produce fully released Technical Data Packages.
  • Lead technical teams of 3 or more people to accomplish program goals, developing schedule/budgetary estimates and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field. Master's degree is preferred.
  • Requires 5-10 years in mechanical engineering or full cycle of mechanical design experience.
  • Ability to obtain a United States secret clearance, which requires proof of US citizenship.
