Residential Care Specialist

As a Residential Care Specialist with Family Service of RI, you will play a vital role in providing guidance and supervision to children and adolescents in a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist each resident in making decisions about their daily life, conduct, and discipline, all while adhering to Agency policy and contractual agreements with the Department of Children, Youth and Family.
This is a dynamic and challenging position that requires a strong sense of empathy, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
• Provide guidance and supervision to children and adolescents in a residential setting
• Assist residents in making decisions about daily life, conduct, and discipline
• Implement and maintain Trauma Systems Therapy (TST) in the milieu setting
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure a safe and supportive environment
Requirements:
• Empathetic and effective communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and push or pull 10 lbs or more
• Bilingual skills compensated at 6% above base pay
