Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at Michaels Stores. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, building relationships with customers, and creating a memorable shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Build relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences to provide personalized recommendations and solutions
  • Operate cash register and execute cash handling to standards, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Assist with visual merchandising, maintaining a visually appealing store environment and ensuring that products are displayed in an attractive and easy-to-shop manner
  • Participate in the truck un-load and stocking processes, ensuring that products are received and stocked in a timely and efficient manner
  • Support shrink and safety programs, maintaining a safe and secure store environment
  • Interact with colleagues in an accepting and respectful manner, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture
Requirements
  • Basic computer skills and basic measuring skills
  • Ability to operate the framing equipment and glass cutter
  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a sales or customer service role
Work Environment

Our store is a public retail setting, with a climate-controlled environment. Some stock rooms may not be climate controlled, and some outdoor work may be required to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks. The frame shop contains glass cutters and heat presses.
