Job Title: Systems Engineer

NuvoLogic Consulting is a management consulting company based in the Northern Virginia area, specializing in financial services and mortgage finance. We collaborate with public and private sector clients to provide expert advice and support in finance, accounting, and operations. Our team helps clients prepare for, respond to, and recover from national disasters by developing and implementing data analytics tools.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join our Scrum team supporting the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Office of Disaster Recovery & Resilience (ODR&R). As a Systems Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of data analytics tools that play a critical role in disaster preparedness and response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement system architectures that align with project objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.
  • Integrate various components of data analytics products, including software, hardware, databases, and networks, to ensure seamless system operations.
  • Monitor system performance, identifying bottlenecks or areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance system speed, capacity, and reliability.
  • Ensure system security by implementing best practices in cybersecurity and regularly testing for vulnerabilities to protect sensitive disaster-related data.
  • Provide technical support for systems and infrastructure, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and working proactively to prevent system failures and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery, participating in Scrum ceremonies and contributing to ongoing system performance improvement.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including system architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Assist in planning and executing system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations, and maintaining system integrity by applying patches, updates, and configuration changes as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure design, or related roles.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Azure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of virtualization, networking, and system monitoring tools.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or similar are highly desirable.
