Cafeteria Service Specialist

This role is classified under the Service Contract Act (SCA). The position offers an additional $4.57/hour for SCA Health & Welfare Allowance, along with generous benefits including:
- Two weeks of paid vacation after one year of service

- Ten paid holidays annually
The Food Service Worker plays a vital role in the cafeteria and/or delicatessen/bakery environment, contributing to the preparation, presentation, and serving of a variety of specialty foods, including meats, cheeses, salads, and baked goods.
The incumbent will:
- Assist in weighing, pricing, and packaging selected food items.
- Prepare attractive food displays in counter cases and other presentation units.
- Welcome customers at the service counter, take special orders, and respond to inquiries regarding specialty foods.
Food Preparation Duties:
Utilizing prepped ingredients and adhering to established procedures, the Food Service Worker will:
- Prepare hot and cold sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, salads, and rotisserie chicken.
- Perform tasks such as slicing and mixing ingredients as required.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning counters, trays, and washing dishes.
- Inspect and sanitize equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
The Worker may also assist with:
- Measuring and mixing ingredients as directed.
- Preparing, cooking, and decorating various baked goods.
- Receiving and storing stock from deliveries.
- Processing customer payments and providing change.
Applicants should possess:
- Three years of experience in a clerical role, preferably within a dining facility.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
