Public Health LPN Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna. As a Public Health LPN Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and leading student training programs to enhance public health outreach through education, activities, and connections with community-based resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement comprehensive public health training programs for students, focusing on vital health topics such as sex education, drug and alcohol awareness, and nutrition.
- Network with community resources to provide trainings on campus and in the community, fostering connections with healthier and more informed community options.
- Develop community partnerships for collaboration on training and services in the public health field, ensuring a comprehensive approach to health education.
- Work closely with the TRCS Student Behavioral Instructor and First Aid Center LPNs on curriculums, community resources/partnerships, and health events to ensure continuity of services.
- Improved health literacy among individuals with disabilities and the wider community.
- Enhanced self-management of health conditions and better utilization of available resources.
- Increased awareness of personal health and well-being, leading to healthier lifestyle choices.
- Strengthened community connections and networks for individuals with disabilities and TRCS partnerships.
- Active LPN license in TN.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices.
Monday to Thursday: 2pm - 10:30pm, Friday: 12pm - 8:30pm. This position is funded by a grant that will end 9/30/24, and the position will end at that time.
