Job Summary

As a Public Health Nurse I with the Department of State Health Services, you will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of communities across the state. This position requires a skilled nurse who can assess, plan, implement, and evaluate public health nursing services in assigned geographic areas.

Key Responsibilities

Provides essential public health services to assigned communities, participating in community assessments and identifying health needs.
Develops and implements strategies to address health needs, evaluating outcomes in conjunction with community stakeholders and regional work plans.
Establishes and maintains communication and partnerships with stakeholders, including local officials, community leaders, and health care providers.
Provides consultation, training, and technical assistance to health care providers, academia, and the community.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
Ability to work independently with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Working Conditions

This position requires regular attendance and may involve working in a variety of settings, including community clinics, hospitals, and emergency response situations. The ability to work in a team environment and respond to emergencies is essential.
