This position is full time working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

What you will do:
The Nurse Educator works closely with the Nursing Education Coordinator in an effort to provide formal and informal education and training services to nursing staff at Peterson Health. This includes all licensed nurses, patient care technicians, and ward clerks.
The Nurse Educator will assist with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational services provided as a result of an annual educational needs assessment and subsequent annual education plan. Ongoing programs include: New Nurse Orientation, Residency Program, Nursing Student Rotation and Faculty Coordination, and Annual Nursing Competencies. The Nurse Educator will co-chair the Professional Nurse Development Council and other committees as needed or requested.
Required Education:
BSN or active matriculation in a BSN program, required to complete within one year of hire.
Preferred Education:
MSN
Required Skills:
Clinical nursing proficiency, teaching or training experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and MS Office Suite expertise.
Preferred Skills:
Refined program management, time management, and public speaking skills.
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Registered Nurse, Basic Life Support
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Advanced Pediatric Life Support
Required Experience:
4 years direct clinical experience in medical-surgical, obstetrics, emergency department, surgery department, or critical care areas, with current clinical competence assessment well documented. Some experience in an educator role.
Preferred Experience:
2 years as a hospital-based nurse educator
