Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Auditor to join our team at First Citizens Bank. As a Staff Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of our internal control system and identifying business risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and Risk Management: Execute audit procedures, perform analysis, and provide sufficient evidence to conclude on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control system. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Documentation and Process Validation: Compile all relevant business, process, and system information prior to auditing. Update process flows, risks, and controls, and account for the impact of technology on the control environment.
  • Reporting and Communication: Create reports and other documentation to communicate findings. Propose audit procedures, techniques, and sample approach to validate testing methods.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate risks within the internal audit control system. Suggest process improvements to mitigate or avoid financial losses.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of experience in Accounting or internal auditing OR High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in Accounting or internal auditing
  • Preferred Area of Study: Business, Finance, Accounting or a degree plan focused on Wealth or Trust
  • Preferred Certification Type: Possess or in process of obtaining designation as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Preferred Skills: Knowledge of major regulatory areas of focus, including banking, systems, regulations, and audit procedures, Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC Rules, and SOX Act
