PACS Administrator Job Description

At Insight Hospital and Medical Center Chicago, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and achieving health equity. As a PACS Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our imaging systems, including PACS, CPACS, and other imaging application systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily support and administrative responsibility for the PACS and other imaging systems, including coordinating system maintenance and implementation activities with Information Systems and Medical Imaging Services Department.
  • Perform daily audits of imaging applications as needed and as recommended by Information Systems, monitoring and/or auditing imaging system functions to minimize discrepancies in patient data and imaging records.
  • Work closely with all areas of Information Services to ensure complete, efficient, and integrated systems, adhering to all standards, policies, protocols, processes, and procedures as defined by Information Services.
  • Provide or coordinate all PACS training of Medical Imaging staff, alternative system administrators, Information Services, physicians, and other caregivers, documenting training plans and materials as needed.
  • Be available during off-hours for technologist and radiologist support, with on-site availability 50-60% of the time and the rest remote support.
  • Work with Radiology staff and students to better utilize PACS systems.
