Position Overview:
The Strategic Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that supplier delivery timelines, targets, and quotas are achieved by effectively managing the flow of incoming materials, components, and documentation to satisfy production requirements. The selected individual will assess, develop, and implement suitable actions to address any discrepancies in fulfilling production needs. Furthermore, they will create and oversee the planning and sourcing strategy for designated groups or categories of components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement sourcing strategies to comprehensively meet production demands.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Buyer to assist in the formulation of supplier strategies.
- Engage in a collaborative team environment, demonstrating strong teamwork skills and the ability to work with various functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
- Proactively identify issues in plans, determine necessary solutions and enhancements, and execute required adjustments to rectify identified challenges.
- Generate visibility of material status through reports such as line of balance, material shortage, and clear to build reports.
- Proactively manage and communicate timely updates to key stakeholders and departments when production schedules are at risk.
- Gather and analyze data related to the efficiency and punctuality of production requirements and component delivery schedules.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to produce material line of balance and conduct clear to build assessments.
- Solid understanding of Material Planning principles and Plan for Every Part data management.
- Proven capability to make independent decisions to achieve desired outcomes and drive necessary actions to completion.
- Proficient in MRP systems.
- Prior experience in aerospace or other advanced manufacturing sectors.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and US export regulations.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Experience in developing and delivering clear and concise proposals.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Self-motivated and proactive contributor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business preferred.
- High school diploma with 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain management or a related field.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally.
