About the Role

Cepheid, a leading provider of diagnostic solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Scientist II to join our Biochip R&D team in Sunnyvale, CA. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing real-time PCR and RT-PCR assays for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and optimization of real-time PCR and RT-PCR assays for various applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Bioinformatics, Engineering, and other interdisciplinary groups, to design, define, and test various aspects of the assay.
  • Perform nucleic acid extraction/purification and other laboratory tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related work experience or Master's degree with 0-2 years of related work experience.
  • Experience with real-time PCR or RT-PCR optimization and product development/design control.
  • Knowledge in handling clinical samples and ability to work in a BSL-2 environment.

Cepheid offers a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. We also offer a competitive salary range of $82,000 to $126,000, with the possibility of bonus/incentive pay.
