Position Summary

The Production Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing efficiency by troubleshooting and optimizing both equipment and processes. This position also involves managing capital projects, reviewing process control systems, and identifying issues to uphold process integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of product quality, collaborating closely with Materials Engineers and Quality Engineers to ensure the delivery of reliable products.
  • Lead the maintenance and updating of manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work instructions, batch records, FMEA, Control Plans) to guarantee compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee the Management of Change process for any modifications in manufacturing processes or equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for production and quality issues, supporting the Materials Engineering team in addressing raw material concerns.
  • Establish a Preventative Maintenance schedule for all process equipment and assist the Maintenance Team in executing the PM program efficiently.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven approaches, balancing safety, quality, cost, reliability, and capacity.
  • Develop a robust Statistical Quality Control (SQC) and Statistical Process Control (SPC) program, ensuring process capability aligns with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Control System Engineers and lab personnel to ensure data accuracy and availability, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Translate customer performance requirements into internal manufacturing key characteristics, developing control strategies for consistent performance.
  • Engage with operational staff to train and motivate production teams to adhere to procedures and understand their impact on outcomes.
  • Optimize production processes by defining sampling protocols and collaborating with control systems teams to establish effective control schemes.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices across global manufacturing sites.
  • Support corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) and Quality initiatives.
  • Assist in capital projects to implement new products or processes as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) will also be considered. A Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical processing environment is essential, with in-depth knowledge of chemical engineering unit operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software (e.g., JMP, Minitab) is required; experience with AutoCAD or SAP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.
  • This role is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of a post-offer drug screening.

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this position is between $95,000 and $110,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
