Job Summary

As an Emergency Veterinary Nurse, you will provide exceptional patient care to ill and injured animals, working closely with our Boarded Critical Care Specialized Veterinarians and Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Technician Specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care for ill and injured animals in the Veterinary Medical Center
  • Instruct and demonstrate techniques to students
  • Assist students, veterinary technicians, and veterinarians in their work
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of hospital areas
  • Develop and utilize skills in emergency triage, patient stabilization, nursing care, and knowledge of setup and assisting with emergency procedures
Requirements
  • Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical or vocational school in Veterinary Technology
  • Related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in extensive patient care, surgery, anesthesia, drug-dosing, and sterilization
  • Experience in the use of spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Licensed as a Veterinary Technician with the State of Michigan or attainment of such certification within one year from date of employment
Work Environment

This is a 3rd shift position, working 8pm-8am, 3 days a week. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the opportunity to develop and utilize your skills in emergency veterinary care.
