Job Title: Veterinary Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Vetcelerator. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians in providing compassionate care to our patients.
  • Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas before procedures.
  • Observe and provide basic care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
  • Clean and maintain kennels, examination rooms, and other areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Administer medications and treatments as instructed by the veterinary team.
  • Assist with the handling and restraint of animals during procedures and examinations.
  • Observe patients and report any changes in behavior, appetite, or health to the veterinary team.
  • Communicate with pet owners in a friendly and professional manner, providing education on basic animal care and treatment plans.
  • Perform basic laboratory procedures such as sample collection and processing.
  • Document medical records accurately and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant.
  • Passion for working with animals and providing excellent care.
  • Ability to lift and restrain animals as needed.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
