Job Summary

Crisdel Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Excavator Operator - Pipe Crew to join our team. As a key member of our road construction team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including trackhoes and excavators, to lay underground pipe and ensure the safe and efficient completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate trackhoes and excavators to excavate trenches and lay underground pipe.
  • Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Collaboration with Ground Crew: Work with ground personnel to excavate and install pipe, ensuring it is laid to the correct depth and grade.
  • Trench Work: Conduct trench work that meets Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
  • Public Roadway Operations: Operate equipment on public roadways, maintaining awareness of surroundings and following safe work procedures.
  • Training and Development: Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of trackhoes and excavators.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the road construction industry and 2-3 years of experience operating trackhoes and excavators.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge of road construction materials, processes, and industry requirements; understanding of computerized controls and electronics; excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination; ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular basis; work in outdoor settings with inclement weather, heat, and humidity; use of personal protective equipment required.
Working Conditions
  • Overtime and Weekend Work: May be required to work overtime and weekends to meet project deadlines.
  • Physical Environment: Work in outdoor settings with exposure to dust, asphalt, and other environmental factors.
