Job Title: Assistant Manager - Deli and Bakery

At Military Deli and Bakery Services, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in leading our deli and bakery department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Deli and Bakery Manager in providing leadership and direction to the department team.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by ensuring excellent customer service and meeting commissary requirements.
  • Oversee and enforce Food Safety and Sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Help manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering raw materials and supplies.
  • Assist in scheduling and training employees, delegating work assignments, and preparing records concerning inventories and work processes.
  • Develop and maintain professional communication with commissary management to meet financial objectives.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify areas for improvement, developing processes and procedures to address those issues.
  • Maintain accurate department records to ensure documentation of activities.
  • Monitor employee morale and promote a positive teamwork environment.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of grocery or food service experience.
  • Previous shift lead/management experience is mandatory.
  • Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
  • Open availability, including weekends and closing shifts.
  • Must have a valid Food Safety Management Certification or be able to obtain one within 30 days from the hire date.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
