As a Water and Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting land-based aquaculture systems research, engineering, and external consulting work. Your primary responsibilities will include performing chemical, biological, and physical water and wastewater tests according to standard methods while adhering to QA/QC protocols, conducting sampling on and off-site in accordance with ongoing research and monitoring projects, and assisting in completing sampling, water quality analysis, data analysis, and reporting for stormwater and facility effluent discharge permits. Additionally, you will record and compile laboratory data using manual and computer-based data management systems, prepare analytical reports on operations and activities, and properly dispose of hazardous waste generated by the laboratory in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) guidelines.
