Conservation Science Laboratory Associate

We are seeking an experienced Conservation Science Laboratory Associate to join our team at The Conservation Fund. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing analytical services supporting land-based aquaculture systems research and engineering. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality results that inform conservation efforts and policy decisions.
Responsibilities
* Provide analytical services supporting land-based aquaculture systems research and engineering.* Assist the Water and Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Manager in developing and implementing quality control procedures.* Conduct sampling on and off-site in accordance with ongoing research and monitoring projects.* Assist in completing sampling, water quality analysis, data analysis, and reporting for stormwater and facility effluent discharge permits in accordance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System and other permits.* Operate and maintain benchtop, field, and other analytical equipment.* Perform periodic calibration of water quality instrumentation.* Record and compile laboratory data using manual and computer-based data management systems; assist in preparing analytical reports on operations and activities.* Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste generated by the laboratory in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) guidelines.* Author and update existing laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).* Collaborate with staff to deliver on research and consulting projects, including authoring or co-authoring scientific articles and reports (internal and external).
