Senior Mechanical Engineer - Thermal and Fluids Expert

Mainspring Energy, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Menlo Park, CA. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing thermal and fluids systems for our linear generator technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and participate in brainstorming activities to develop novel ways to improve thermal and fluids systems
  • Develop and optimize key thermal subsystems of the linear generator to drive down cost, improve performance, and deliver high reliability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing engineering, NPI, and external suppliers to rapidly deploy new designs into production
Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering field from an accredited institution + 6 years of relevant industry experience or MS + 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Direct experience designing air or liquid handling systems, with demonstrated engineering fundamentals in thermo-fluid system design
  • Fluent in SolidWorks or comparable CAD package and experience with using PDM or a similar CAD version control system
  • Experience with finite element analysis (structural, thermal, or fluids) and familiarity with 1D or 3D thermal systems design simulation tools
