Psychology Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Psychology Instructor to join our team at Green River College. As a Psychology Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching lower division courses in Psychology, including General Psychology, Biological Psychology, Psychology Statistics, and Psychology Research Methods.
About the PositionThis is a tenure-track position that requires a Master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Biological Psychology. The successful candidate will have experience teaching college-level classes in Biological Psychology and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities- Teach Psychology courses on-campus, including General Psychology, Biological Psychology, Psychology Statistics, and Psychology Research Methods.
- Design and develop curriculum for new Psychology courses.
- Use and manage technology in the classroom, including learning management systems such as Canvas.
- Advise students, serve on committees, and perform other duties as outlined in the negotiated collective bargaining agreement.
- Advance the educational success of underrepresented and underserved communities.
- Participate in College and Division professional activities.
- Maintain strong collegial and collaborative relationships within the Psychology Department, the Social Science Division, and the broader Green River College campus community.
- Master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Biological Psychology.
- Experience teaching college-level classes in Biological Psychology.
- PhD in Psychology with an emphasis in Biological Psychology or significant graduate-level coursework beyond a psychology master's degree in biological psychology.
- Experience teaching college-level biopsychology courses as the instructor of record.
- Two years of experience teaching college-level courses in psychology.
- Experience teaching at a community college.
- Experience in the management and use of technology in the classroom.
- Experience building classes in learning management systems, such as Canvas.
- Experience working with people of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds as well as those with disabilities or other minority statuses.
