Position: Supplier Quality Engineer – PCB/PCBA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate supplier performance metrics to identify trends and address systemic issues.
  • Work closely with the sourcing team to strategically select suppliers based on their capabilities.
  • Oversee the implementation and tracking of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with chosen suppliers.
  • Ensure suppliers comprehend product specifications and submission requirements.
  • Design and validate process controls to manage critical characteristics and key performance indicators.
  • Advise on technical product enhancements to mitigate risks and minimize defect possibilities.
  • Support Receiving Inspection by developing and maintaining inspection protocols.
  • Assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems, providing constructive feedback on methods and technologies. Manage supplier improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance supplier quality performance through workshops, technical assistance, and other necessary support.
  • Act as a liaison among purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Exhibit innovation, technical proficiency, meticulousness, self-motivation, and determination.
  • Possess experience in PCB fabrication and assembly.
  • Focus on achieving results and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with teams, lead projects, and continuously enhance the supply chain to facilitate SpaceX Satellite production.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Quality Management Systems standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC).

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Master's degree in business or engineering.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing within aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics sectors.
  • Familiarity with APQP tools such as process mapping, PFMEA, MSA, DOE, SPC, and Control Plans.
  • Knowledge of PPAP and FAIR processes.
  • Understanding of 2D 'Blueprints', 'Model drawings', and GD&T.
  • Structured problem-solving approach, such as 8D methodology.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and report writing.
  • Experience with statistical software like MiniTab or JMP.
  • Understanding of lean principles or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of influencing others and presenting to teams and management.
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to travel up to 60-75% of the work week; valid driver's license required.
