About the Role

Cayuga Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain vital signs and report any abnormalities to the registered nurse.
  • Assist patients with personal care, including bowel and bladder care, and monitor intake and output of fluids.
  • Ambulate and reposition patients to prevent complications associated with immobility.
  • Reinforce education with patients on topics such as incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
  • Ensure a clean and organized bedside area to promote a safe and healing environment.
  • Remain flexible and assist patients and teammates as needed.
  • Round on patients every hour to ensure responsibilities are complete and patient needs are met.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable history of honesty, calmness, reliability, compassion, and caring towards customers and coworkers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
  • Previous patient care experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
  • Lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs).
  • Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time.
Work Environment
  • Onsite at our Main Campus.
  • Full-time position with 5 x 8-hour shifts.
  • Nights - between 11pm and 7am.
Compensation
  • Standard rate of $19.50 per hour plus benefits.
  • Enhanced rate of $21.93 per hour without benefits.
