Cayuga Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain vital signs and report any abnormalities to the registered nurse.
- Assist patients with personal care, including bowel and bladder care, and monitor intake and output of fluids.
- Ambulate and reposition patients to prevent complications associated with immobility.
- Reinforce education with patients on topics such as incentive spirometer use and fall prevention.
- Ensure a clean and organized bedside area to promote a safe and healing environment.
- Remain flexible and assist patients and teammates as needed.
- Round on patients every hour to ensure responsibilities are complete and patient needs are met.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrable history of honesty, calmness, reliability, compassion, and caring towards customers and coworkers.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Previous patient care experience.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers.
- Lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs).
- Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time.
- Onsite at our Main Campus.
- Full-time position with 5 x 8-hour shifts.
- Nights - between 11pm and 7am.
- Standard rate of $19.50 per hour plus benefits.
- Enhanced rate of $21.93 per hour without benefits.
