Job Title: Sr. Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Cloud Engineer to join our team at Avolinq, LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure cloud solutions for our government and industry customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud computing infrastructure and applications with a focus on DevOps principles
  • Monitor the performance of systems and ensure optimal performance
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS
  • Perform mostly telework (75%) with certain onsite activities in secure facilities (25%) as needed

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of technology experience and a Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform
  • 5+ years of experience supporting the Cloud environments to include, delivering, securing and managing container-based applications and supporting the Cloud
  • 10+ years of experience in software development to include:
    • Python, commercial or on-prem cloud, and git experience
    • Experience with DevOps (configuration management, application deployment, security)
    • Strong debugging skills (grepping logs, stack traces, tracking down permissions issues, etc)
  • 5+ years of Systems administration and automation experience with Windows and Linux to include PowerShell and/or Bash Scripting
  • 2+ years of experience leading software engineering projects to include mentorship, development, and management of the team
  • Experience working in a serverless environment
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting infrastructure as code (CloudFormation/Terraform/Ansible)
  • Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
  • Experience with the Atlassian tools in agile environments
  • Experience working with containers (Docker/Podman) and their orchestration tools (docker compose/Swarm/Kubernetes)

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate/Professional
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional

  • An active TS/SCI FSP

Remote Work:

  • 75% remote work, 25% onsite (Reston, VA)
