Position Overview

The Radiology Technologist II plays a crucial role in performing a variety of standard radiographic procedures safely and efficiently. This position involves reviewing and transmitting films and reports to the appropriate medical professionals, as well as handling reception and clerical tasks within the Radiology Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Preparation: Assess patient needs accurately and provide necessary education before radiographic procedures.
  • Procedure Execution: Conduct radiographic and/or fluoroscopic procedures with precision.
  • Productivity Management: Ensure timely completion of both scheduled and unscheduled tasks to enhance overall productivity.
  • IV Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in IV placement and the injection of contrast materials.
  • Equipment Operation: Utilize computer and radiographic equipment for effective image production and documentation.
  • Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to guarantee optimal image quality.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter and complete all patient information, including exam charges and supplies, in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and other applications.
  • Film Preparation: Prepare films for interpretation by radiologists in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to the unique needs of the department and respond appropriately.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate abnormal situations to the relevant parties to facilitate resolution.
  • Collaboration: Engage with other healthcare providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
  • Compliance: Adhere to department procedures, policies, and safety regulations.
  • Infection Control: Follow universal precautions and infection control guidelines.
  • Facility Maintenance: Stock and clean exam rooms and work areas.
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in rotational on-call duties for after-hours coverage.
  • Instruction: May be responsible for the clinical instruction of student technologists.
  • Ethical Practice: Uphold the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of one (1) year as a Radiologic Technologist.
Education: Not applicable.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification
Additional Requirements:
  • General knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations, OSHA, DHR, and radiation safety.
  • Familiarity with exam protocols.
  • Basic computer skills, including keyboarding and navigation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
