Job Title: Warehouse Stockhandler

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Stockhandler to join our team.

Job Summary:

The primary function of this position is to expedite the incoming and outgoing freight, including receiving, stocking, pulling, staging, loading, and shipping freight.

Responsibilities:
  • Pull stock orders and put away merchandise in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily inspections of motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, lift gates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Operate warehouse machinery and equipment in accordance with established safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Transport merchandise throughout the warehouse using electric sit-down or stand-up forklifts and manual equipment as needed.
  • Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
  • Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment at all times.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
  • Functionally literate and capable of understanding and recognizing part numbers accurately and rapidly.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and communication with peers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Good general math skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry freight weighing up to 80 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to push and pull products of excessive weight using mechanical aids.
  • Ability to work on your feet for your assigned shift as part of the normal daily routine.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, climb, push, and pull, and move at a quick pace.
  • Knowledge and competency in the utilization of warehouse-related computer and bar coding equipment.
