BESIX Watpac is seeking a highly skilled Project Safety Coordinator to join their team for a large meat-processing facility project in Rockhampton.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing the Project Safety Management Plan.
- Conduct operational audits, site observations, and inspections, as well as facilitate toolbox talks.
- Investigate all injuries, illnesses, and notifiable incidents that occur at the BESIX Watpac workplace or through BESIX Watpac activities related to the project.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency procedures for the project.
- Facilitate consultation with workers and other duty holders, including employees of subcontractors.
- Maintain project records in accordance with BESIX Watpac's National Safety Management System.
- Assist in reviewing Subcontractor OHS performance at the start of the contract through to completion of contract.
- Certificate IV, Diploma, or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Prior project experience in a Safety Advisor or Coordinator capacity within commercial construction.
- Ability to communicate, influence, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and work effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office.
