Position Summary:
This role involves delivering advanced nursing care throughout the patient care continuum, specifically for individuals with valvular heart conditions that may necessitate a variety of surgical or interventional procedures.

The position may also engage in clinical research, educational initiatives for both patients and healthcare professionals, and ongoing patient follow-up, emphasizing a collaborative team approach.

The responsibilities of the cardiovascular nurse practitioner will adapt over time to align with the evolving needs of patients and the cardiovascular care team.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and completion of a nurse practitioner program.
  • Master's degree in nursing and certification as a nurse practitioner.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in California.
  • Provider number (NPI) is mandatory.
  • Eligibility to apply for a DEA license for medication prescription within approved protocols.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.

Preferred Experience:
Prior experience as an acute care Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner or Cardiac Registered Nurse is highly valued.
