Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our team at Sonic Automotive. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive repair orders from dispatchers and perform work as outlined with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Communicate with parts departments to obtain needed parts and save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or requested by the customer.
  • Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required and notify service advisors immediately if additional work is not needed or required.
  • Document work performed and road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
  • Supervise work of apprentice technicians as assigned and attend factory-sponsored training classes to stay up-to-date on the latest technical bulletins.
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean and maintain a neat and clean shop area, accounting for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations regarding the disposal of hazardous wastes and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High CSI is a must.
  • ASE or manufacturing training.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Good judgment.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license.
