Job Title: Research IT Sr. Systems Engineer

Cloud and Virtualization Services is seeking a highly skilled Research IT Sr. Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining public, hybrid, and private cloud solutions for Research IT, a new unit within Cloud and Virtualization Services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with research customers to develop, implement, and optimize cloud-based research solutions.
  • Ensure cloud solutions are architected for peak performance, scalability, cost efficiency, redundancy, disaster tolerance, and high security.
  • Work with peers on projects that advance research technology locally and globally.
  • Proactively monitor existing on-premises research infrastructure and offer solutions to improve customer experience and workload efficiencies.
  • Diagnose cloud and application performance issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Handle incident and change management using ServiceNow.
  • Continuously improve our services and create tutorials and videos to assist our customers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Six years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with specific platform, devices, and software listed above.
  • Advanced experience with public and private cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
