Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, research, implement, administer, and evaluate the City's wellness program and related activities.
  • Develop innovative and creative approaches to improve employee health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote wellness and health promotion.
  • Provide training and information about various health topics through marketing materials, online content, presentations, and motivation programs.
  • Coordinate and administer special events promoting wellness, including classes, speakers, seminars, biometric screenings, health fairs, fitness challenges, and community partnerships.
  • Assist employees with interpretation of wellness program activities, processes, and procedures.
  • Benchmark successful external programs and stay current with best practices to drive participation and promote the improvement of overall health and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a health or science-related discipline, including Public Health, Wellness, Fitness, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of related experience, including working knowledge of health, fitness, and wellness promotion principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products, including Word and Excel, with the ability to learn software related to departmental functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Wellness Practitioner (CWP) or related certification.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of mental health program administration.
  • Experience working in a matrix style leadership environment.
